Book a day Advent Calendar

I loved this idea that my Mom shared with me…1 Christmas book a day to count down the days until Christmas.  Payton loves having something to open every night and I love that it is a guaranteed book to be read (especially since Payton is not loving holding still long enough to read a book these days).  I think this is something definitely worth repeating each year while the kids are young.
She also got an Elf on the Shelf that she has a blast finding each morning.  Her name is…Sprinkles!  We don’t take it too seriously since 1) it is kind of creepy that she is always watching you, 2) Payton is already freaked out that a fat old man sneaks into the house at night (Yes, she actually said she didn’t want Santa to come!), and 3) I just don’t have the energy to come up with something super creative each night.  Luckily, Byron took the lead and has been moving Miss Sprinkles around the house…and Payton has had an absolute blast finding her each morning.
