Can not believe we have a 2-year-old! Happy happy happy birthday Payton-Pie! Still in shock over how fast it has all gone! We are SO blessed and lucky to have her in our lives, these 2 years have been amazing…can’t wait to see what lies ahead.
So what all has been going on lately you ask? Oh…and you want to see lots of pictures you say? Well…you came to the right place!
–She sings now! She can do all of the ABC’s, Twinkle Little Star, and lots of snip-its of other songs.
–She can count to 20…who knew? I didn’t until I heard her doing over the monitor one day instead of napping!
–She says some awfully cute things! One night while Byron was giving her a bath she picked up a cup and was trying to help rinse her hair out, she accidentally poured water on her eyes. She rubbed her eyes and in the cutest little voice said, “I sorry Payton’s eyes”.
–One of her favorite books is “Goodnight Moon” and my favorite part of the whole book is her calling the “quiet old lady” — “Mama Hop Hop” and the baby bunny in the bed — “Baby Hop Hop”. She came up with those names completely on her own!
–She loves pickles, bananas, grapes, PB&J sandwiches, PB by the spoonful, humus with crackers, humus by the spoonful: yuck!, mac and cheese, and of course M&Ms. She is on a veggie strike right now, although she will eat the occasional serving of broccoli or peas.
–She is obsessed with my old Cabbage Patch doll, Gabby. Gabby has to go EVERYWHERE with us and has to be tucked in under a blanket when Payton takes a nap and goes to bed at night.
–She is also obsessed with socks, mittens, and hats. And yes, I mean it, OBSESSED!
–Her favorite place to be is outside running and rolling around in the grass, splashing in puddles, and collecting rocks, flowers, leaves and pine-cones.
–And yes, she is your typical toddler going through the terrible 2’s. Lots of tantrums, hissy fits, and crying to try to get what she wants. She can also be quite the bully…we are going through a not wanting to share anything stage. She even has road rage!! Anytime I come to a stop in the car, she immediately starts yelling “go go go go go! go Mama go!” and then points to other cars moving and yells “no! no! no other cars, stop other cars!”.
–In the end though we have one perfect little angel and we wouldn’t take her any other way. She has her moments, she knows when Mama needs a kiss or hug, she says “I love you” at just the right times, she says “I sorry Mama” when she knows she did something wrong or if I’m not feeling well, and she even says “excuse me” if she is trying to squeeze on by.

Happy birthday, Payton! 🙂 Beautiful photos, Julie.
Thanks Shanna!!
🙂
Julie,
Wonderful pictures and narrative, as usual. I was thinking what would be cool is a collage of her expressions. She is SO expressive. I would try to cut and crop maybe 5 pictures in a square collage 5 by 5 all with the faces cropped so that they are the same size.

That is a good idea! =)
