There is such a thing? Hand-Foot-and-Mouth Disease

Well, we got test results back Tuesday and found that Payton did not having Whooping Cough.  We thought she was turning the corner and finally starting to feel better.  Then that night she got a fever and poor little thing felt horrible.  The next day I noticed some spots on her legs and I thought she had Chicken Pox!  Thankfully she in fact did not have Chicken Pox but was in the beginning phase of Hand-Foot-and-Mouth Disease.  Huh?  I had never even heard of it.  So back to the doctor we went, he explained it all to us.  It’s also a viral infection, the ulcers are now in her throat, mouth, arms, legs, hands, feet and little tushy.  It also causes tummy problems…we have had at least one outfit change a day.  She will have a fever off and he said she will just feel down right crummy most of the time.  Well, she has been a little trooper…she sure felt crummy yesterday but she gave us tons of smiles and giggles today!!  I really think her being sick is killing me more than it is bothering her at times.  Hoping she continues to feel better…I’m off to work this weekend so it is going to be a Daddy duty weekend…wish him luck!

Some shots from the past few days…

She thought she was sneaking off to the stairs…little sneakster!

Her favorite position…standing.

Every night as soon as I start running her bath water she hops onto her hands and knees, crawls as quick as she can to the tub, pulls herself up and just watches as the tub fills up with water. Same exact thing every night, so cute.

This is usually how I find her in the mornings and after naps…either sitting up playing with her lovies or standing up babbling to herself. She has felt so crummy lately, I was so so so happy to see her smling this morning!!

I turn my back for one second and she is standing…saying “Mommy, get me out of here!”
